Personalized Classroom Posters: W.E.L.C.O.M.E.
Not quite, but I’m working on it. I haven’t done anything in my classroom yet since I’m sort of working at home. I’ve completed some of my posters, here’s a sample welcome sign with quotation I saw online three years ago, I will post this on my front door. If you own the clip art or you wrote the quotation, just send me a message and I will link you up.

Do you have play time in your school for 2nd graders? I know do know that playing is the best way to teach preschool, how about older kids – 2nd grade in particular? Do you have free play where kids are aloud to play with any education classroom games (not center activities). Something like sections for kids to build (using blocks or other manipulative), paint, do craft or even play dress up? I really hope to give my students this school year some time to ‘play’: free play but at the same time learn. I really want to include a dress up corner where students can use nursing uniforms to play ‘doctor’s office’ for them to improve their communication skill. I noticed that most of my students are ashamed to do a ‘play’ during the past 2 years I thought but last year, I did a ‘play’ and all my students enjoyed it. What are your thoughts about this?

The school year 2011 – 2012 is just around the corner, are you ready for the beginning of the school year?
I wish I can say I’m all set and ready for the coming school year but I’m really not. I haven’t done anything related to school work since in June. Our family was so occupied with our home renovation project that 1 hour in one week in front of the computer is all I had lately.
I’m happy with some of the shelves my husband built this summer vacation that I wish to stop by the metal buildings and hardware stores again to shop for materials that I might be able to use if my hubby agrees to make some for me.
Here are my furniture wish lists this school year:
1) Window/Easel Stand
2) Felt/Story Board
3) About 5 Shelves for Centers/Daily 5 materials and Books
How about you? What are your furniture must haves in your classroom?

I must plan in advance to make sure the next school year will go smoothly. In the meantime, I plan to finish my planned classroom wall decorations – word wall, daily five posters and other posters.
