What Teachers Make
After two months of being busy at work and seeing improvement with the kids behavior, work independence and collaborative learning. I feel like it’s time to get pool heat pumps and jump into the pool this cold and rainy season to realax and unwind… Hmmmm, Perhaps what I need is to watch video clips that will remind me one of the reasons I decided to do what I do.
Safari Montage
This is one of the best resources I have in my class. I love incorporating movies with real life connection with the kids. This afternoon we watched movies about the animal groups we are learning in class. They enjoyed watching and learning more about mammals, reptiles and birds. Next week we will watch fish and amphibians.
They were quiet and engaged with the movie, they were also exchanging information afterwards. I just with I have good bookshelf speakers with surround sound.
I’m use my apple speaker… literally an apple speaker when they were watching movies since that will work fine as long as it’s plugged in the USB drive.
Their password to leave our classroom today is when they are able to answer my questions about the 3 movies they watched. I love that password now! I get them more engage with our lesson.
Yesterday, the password is the ‘double vowel rule’.

2nd grader of room D1were excited that we’re going to have Daily 5 again next week. We had to stop because of our ELP testing, 2 1/2 day of school and the addition students. It’s great to know that the kids are excited to do their daily 5.
I asked them to work on their book box for the two days that they are not doing daily five. Their book boxes include a guide they can use when doing read to self and read to someone: ”IPICK”, “Check for Understanding”, “3 Ways to read a book”, “Ways to read-to-someone”. They were useful so far. I hope my four new students will be able to transition well.
Next week, we’ll resume our Daily 5. The kiddos are even more excited to see their new tools for Daily 5 which I’ll be sharing soon…
I hope to still do centers sometime. Little by little, inch by inch… we’ll be able to maximize our learning tool for the kids. In the meantime, I’ll just read about medical step stools since it’s part of my research work.

One of the activities I’m looking forward to doing this school year is the “Daily 5.” My students last school year absolutely loved it even though I didn’t start it until the 4th quarter. I learned about it end of 2nd quarter or beginning of 3rd quarter after a workshop from an international guest. Read More
